e Vocabulary BuildereVocabulary Builder's™ strategy to make the tremendous task of mastering a large number of words is divide-and-conquer . We have already divided what you need to learn into manageable Learning Units that can be studied individually. You will take practice tests on Learning Units and your progress is monitored on these learning units.

Current Configuration of the Learning Units

Difficulty Levels

One the innovations in implementation of the eVocabulary Builder™ is the Difficulty Level metric of each word. eVocabulary Builder™ dynamically calculates this metric by applying our innovative proprietary algorithm to the results of the tests given to all subscribers all over the world. For a given word this metric is between 0 and 100 and changes as more statistics about the word is collected.

Level Measure Presentation
Easy Less than 20 e Vocabulary Builder
Easy-Moderate Between 21 and 40 e Vocabulary Builder
Moderate Between 41 and 60 e Vocabulary Builder
Moderate-Difficult Between 61 and 80 e Vocabulary Builder
Difficult Above 80 e Vocabulary Builder

Personalized Metrics

You are also provided by Personal Difficulty Level of each word during your study sessions. So at any moment you will know what is your mastery level pertaining to the word being studied.

e Vocabulary BuilderThe Personal Difficulty Level is calculated based on many factors using our proprietray algorithm. Metrics such as your score for each word, the average seconds you needed to answer a question, and the like are used as inputs. These measures are provided to you when studying the words.

The Review Page

e Vocabulary BuilderFor each word you will learn its type (for example, whether the word is a noun or a verb), one or more of its meanings, and an example that shows you how the word is properly used in a sentence or conversation. Your Personalized Difficulty Level metrics for each entry are also available on this page. These include the average time you spent to answer a question about this word in practice tests, and the number of times you answered such questions correctly.

The study page has been optimized for maximum efficiency. You will study two words on each page. This ensures that you will not be distracted by scrolling the screen up and down.

You can study the words in a Learning Unit as many times as you like during your subscription period.

The Test Center and the Review Center

e Vocabulary BuilderThe Test Center and the Review Center sections are optimally designed to allow you focus on one Learning Unit at a time. These sections enable you to select a Learning Unit to study, create practice tests, monitor your progress, review the previously taken practice tests, check the results of the practice tests, and monitor your timing.

No Practice Test Is the Same!

Another innovation in the design of eVocabulary Builder™ is that nobody ever will repeat the same test. This means you will never get the same test twice. This approach ensures that your correct answer to a question is not because the same question was given to you in a prior test and you happen to recall that question but it is because you have really learned and recognized the word.

Practice Tests

There are 30 questions in Learning Unit practice tests. The number of questions in a comprehensive test is 60.

e Vocabulary Builder There are two question formats. The formats are not predetermined so nobody knows exactly what the format of a question is in advance.

e Vocabulary BuilderAt the end of each test a summary of your performance is provided. This summary includes the number of questions in the test, the number of correct answers, the number of incorrect answers, the corresponding percentages, the time you spent to answer all questions, and the average time you spent to answer each question.

Subscriber Home Page

Once you login, you are presented with your personalized home page. This page provides you information about your subscription and practice test credits.

e Vocabulary Builder The Subscriber Home Page also includes a quick view of your progress. It presents you with your performance averages and your latest performance data and it tells you how much progress in mastering a Learning Unit you have made (the information is presented to you for each Learning Unit).

Reviewing Test Questions and Answers

e Vocabulary BuilderYou can also get a full list of questions in a given test at the end of the test or at any time after the test is completed (during your subscription period). This list includes the question, the time you spent to answer the question, the four choices, and the correct answer. For each question there is an example/usage of the word to help you learn from your mistakes. Your correct and incorrect answers are also marked on the list.
